Date | 1930 |
Property Owner | Dr. Harry Lukens |
Event | Unfortunately there is not much recorded history concerning this property other than it was built on the corner of Minnesota and 45th Street by Dr. Harry Lukens as his home. It was a charming cottage with a front porch and was located in a part of Dickinson that at one time was considered the “Downtown” area of the city. Situated across from this house was a triangular parcel of land which became known as the “Village Green”. A small room was attached to this building where he practiced medicine until the mid 1950’s. |

Property Owner | Mary Lukens Reasoner |
Event | Upon the death of Dr. Lukens in 1963, his daughter Mary Lukens Reasoner inherited her father’s home. Mary became an elementary teacher in Dickinson and touched the lives of many Dickinson children. She also became known as a baby sitter for the children of parents who were parishioners of the near-by Methodist and Episcopal churches. In her later years, she would be seen walking all over town and the residents of Dickinson always “watched out” for her. |
